Client Relationship Manager

Emily grew up on a farm outside of Toronto, SD, a town of just 200 people. She brings a commitment to building relationships and a joyful heart to her work. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Affairs with a minor in Ag Business from South Dakota State University (SDSU). Emily and her husband, Ethan, moved the house they live in near Harrisburg and spent several months remodeling before they could move in.

The Client Service Team seeks to build extraordinary relationships with our clients by making their lives easier and finding ways to do the “heavy-lifting”. This is the team to:
• Answer account service questions and resolve concerns
• Process transfers and withdrawals, walk you through the paperwork
• Assist new clients with on-boarding, open new accounts
• Coordinate client review meeting preparation and ensure follow-up tasks are completed
• Work side-by-side with beneficiaries and eliminate as much stress as possible

What attracted you to Cornerstone? The sense of community and the company values. I felt comfortable with the team and culture from the beginning of the interview process.

What is the favorite part of your position at Cornerstone? Talking to clients and making connections! I also appreciate the commitment to continuous learning and growth, so we are always working to bring our best to our work with clients.

What is your goal when helping our clients? I strive to leave everyone better than when we met. I like to make sure people feel heard and understood as I know that is what I need myself sometimes! I believe in the golden rule – treat others the way you would like to be treated.

When was the last time you did something that challenged you for the first time? I had been with my previous employer for 4.5 years and changing jobs was a big step for me. It was definitely the right choice for me, but I had to step out of my comfort zone to make it happen.!

What motivates you to work hard? My family and to also be able to enjoy and experience life!

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you? I have always been interested in hair and makeup and have gotten over 100+ girls ready for weddings and/or prom. I started doing proms at the age of 15 and did my first wedding at age 17!
